Nike SB was unofficially formed in 1985 when skaters starting wearing the Nike Dunk to ride in, However, it was 2002 when Nike actually re-engineered the Dunk to specifically for the skate market and branded it as a Nike SB to launch their skateboarding division.
Now the Nike SB was a standalone division the next challenge for Nike SB was to establish its skateboarding team with the recruitment of high profile team riders.
The first crop of signature skaters for Nike SB was Paul Rodriguez, Eric Koston and Stefan Janoski and each skater has designed and produced a skate shoe that reflects their style and their models have been high gross styles since the off.
