Take a step back in time with us as we pay homage to one of the greatest runners in the U.S.A and arguably the world, the Usain Bolt of distance running, holding every U.S record for middle to long distance events at one time, he was destine to become a legend.
Steve Roland “Pre” Prefontaine was without a doubt one of the greatest middle and long-distance runners of all time. He was scouted by Bill Bowerman at an early age and in 1973 became the inspiration for Nike's first signature running sneaker, the Pre Montreal.
The updated Pre Montreal '17 has a modern twist on the classic runners with a Tumbled leather swoosh and new profile takes visual cues from the iconic originals, with the tongue and heel branding as they feature the retro swoosh and Nike logo.
Even the colour scheme resembles the OG iteration with the vibrant Deep Royal contrasting with the Max Orange to create a beautiful 70's aesthetic, it gives off a great vintage aesthetic whilst keeping a contemporary profile and shape thanks to the recrafted shape. The patented waffle sole makes its mark covering the bottom whilst plush suedes caress the toebox.
When you try these on you will be taking a step back into the 70's, that nostalgic feeling will slide over you and bring back memories.
These are as iconic as Nike Cortez sneakers and hold just as much style and heritage behind them, the shape when trying these on was amazing and I can highly recommend a pair as they are so comfortable too.
