Are you the kind of Gal or Guy that likes to be prepared for anything that comes their way? Well, Nike has only gone and made the perfect shoe for you folks and it was under your noses the whole time!
The Air Force 1, the 1982 classic that arguably can be attributed to the beginning of the sneakerhead craze, has seen itself be reappropriated into a variety of different uses. Its original Basketball usage being replaced by slimmed down flyknit styles of latter use (and AF1 pioneer Rasheed Wallace's retirement from the NBA). With fashion's infatuation with slimming down and advancement in technology and in fashion design execution and use, it was only a matter of time before Nike brought the silhouette into the modern day with a number of revolutionary takes on the shoe!
Acronym founder and designer Errolson Hugh said it best about his upcoming AF1 anniversary collaboration; "... In the end, we decided to approach it just like we approach the apparel, which means: Look at a problem, or look at an aspect of the functionality, and see if there’s a way we can improve it.”

With the announcement earlier this year of the revolutionary update to the AF1 in the Special Field Air Force 1 and it's 'OG' colourway, the Desert Camo High, the fashion world took a renewed interest in the silhouette and allowed the coming seasons to be filled with interesting takes (namely pinnacle, jewel and mini swoosh adorned versions of the classic selling like hotcakes). Now that we're back in the colder season, it's time for the influx of Special Fields!
The Special Field mid brings leather, a water resistant, gusseted ripstop and zip lacing system to the mid top AF1. A tough, robust canvas to the ankle, with suede reinforcing the material behind the scenes. Each breathable panel of the AF1 is covered with a tough membrane, allowing the shoe to still breathe. Each pair is topped off with a tonal or starkly contrasting sole unit with maximum grip guaranteed.

The Special Field Air Force 1 Hi brings the typical leather and ripstop materialisation of the Special Field and completely does out with a lacing system, instead replacing it with a zip booty system tied down with 3M piped cording, creating a standout look though registering a similar aesthetic to classic boots of the 70s and 80s, with a modern-day touch.
With this amount of choice for winter, treat your feet to high fashion and practicality.
