This morning saw the release of Nike's revamped 'SE' range. The 'SE' collection, or 'special edition', took 4 classic Nike models from the past generations and reenvisioned them with contemporary material uppers, crafted from dual-density foam.
The Air Max 95 'SE', or, 'Special Edition' utilises a seamless mesh 'no-sew' upper and the same lacing structure we saw on the 'Ultra Jacquard' execution of the 95, giving this sneaker a unique, highly-praised aesthetic while staying true to the OG specifications and heritage of an unrivalled sneaker in the game, one that much deserves the limelight it has been in since we first saw the shoe hit the streets.
On this one, the Nike engineers have used the latest in upper technology, ‘SE’, maximising on the latest synthetic materials and crafting processes. This summer Nike are rolling out some inspired takes on old school classics, that each have a special twist for 2016. Including this ‘Special Edition' take on the world famous Nike Air Max 90 'INFRARED', which sticks to the OG colour structure to stay iconic.
Just like the 95 SE and 90 SE before this, the classic 'Big Window' or 'BW' has also been treated to another contemporary update for 2016. The heroic Nike Air Max BW 'Persian Violet' is returning to Soleheaven after receiving a premium 'Special Edition' update, subbing the original uppers with the most modern, cushioned synthetics available to the Nike engineers.
This sleek Air Max 1 'Special Edition' fuses the original build of the Nike Air Max 1 with the latest in sneaker manufacturing technology. Nike have taken the 1, kept the iconic panelling and re-envisioned the shoe with breathable, cushioned synthetics, which add a host of features to the shoe, including increased air flow to the feet, increased flexibility and a new up-to-date appeal.
