With the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro right around the corner, Nike are going all out representing team USA with an inspired collection of patriotic on-court Basketball sneakers.
After smashing the 2012 London Olympics and taking the gold home, Team USA are hoping to continue that streak of success into Brazil. Within the USA inspired basketball range, the sneakers include the Kobe 11 Elite Low and a Kyrie 2, both adapted with nationalistic colours and branding.
As we already know, the Kobe 11 will be Kobe Bryant\s last NBA sneaker release. This time, the design team have updated the uppers with Nike’s superior ‘Flyknit’ technology across the uppers of the Kobe 11 Elite low, allowing for maximum air flow to the feet and unrivalled flexibility and reactivity. The heel side of the uppers and the Nike Swoosh branding alternate from red to blue on each side, perfectly contrasting the pristine cut white Flyknit textured uppers. Final touches come in the form of Kobe Branding on the sneaker tongue and an icy blue translucent sole to complete the sneaker.
The second on-court sneaker in the pack comes in the form of the iconic Kyrie 2. Again, this hi-top has been adapted with red and blue accents above immaculate white uppers. The Kyrie 2 strap is styled with deep blue, while the Nike/Kyrie branding on the tongue rear and sides stands out in vibrant red. As you’d expect with a Kyrie 2, the uppers feature intricately patterned stitching, and the outsole features unique curvature and a unique patterned aesthetic.
To follow these court releases, Nike are putting 100 into their Olympic inspired packs. Arriving soon, Nike are dropping a fully fledged 2016 Olympic pack, which you simply HAVE to keep your eyes peeled for. The pack features Team USA inspired Presto’s, Pegasus, Uptempo's and BW’s. Keep an eye on Soleheaven social media and our blog for the full pack release information, as well as the much anticipated drop itself.
