I have to admit I am quite partial to a clean-cut court sneaker, with the likes of Common Projects and Club C's and even Janoski's being a staple for my sneaker rotation. Low-tops are a staple for any true style conscious person, with their easy wear, minimal style and classic shape.
Recently my attention has turned to New Balance who have absolutely nailed it with their latest release of low-top silhouettes including the Tempus, CRT300 and its lightweight 'Re-engineered' counterpart. I was more than ecstatic to see that they were arriving in our store and when we received them in-hand they exceeded expectations.
The 'Tempus' is such an easy-to-wear sneaker, subtly boasting a sleek & elegant upper and they are constructed from a durable canvas with a crisp tumbled leather on the tongue that extends onto the toebox and heel creating an effortless aesthetic the Navy rendition features a soft suede panelling as opposed to the leather but still holds the same great impact.
They are such a versatile sneaker that can be styled with a copious amount of outfits making these a must have for this Summer. My favourite look with these would be to keep it clean and minimal, with some cropped pants (preferably beige to keep a neutral look) matched with a plain long sleeve tee or shirt.
The CRT300 is the epitome of a court sneaker, with an all white colour scheme, with a vintage yellowed midsole, these are like a fine wine, they get better as they age, with the soft leather ageing beautifully and gaining character as they are worn more and more.
Also in the lineup is the lightweight CRT300 'Re-engineered which completely reinvents the court classic with a breathable engineered mesh upper, combining street style with performance and easy summer wear. The off-white midsole and branding breaks up the crisp white upper and adds a vintage tone, the hits of blue add a bright summer touch and makes for a season appropriate pair of kicks. The weight of these is crazy light and if you are constantly on the move then these are destined to be on your feet. The black pair keeps it clean and minimal with a monochrome makeup, if you aren't as daring or just plain love a simple look then these are the choice for you.
