Jumpman Has Reached A Whole New Altitude...
The Jordan 13 is back again in the 'Altitude' colourway, returning for a third time. Back in 2005 with a leather construction and again in 2010 with a mesh build. Thankfully Nike have chosen to stick with the original leather construction which gives off a distinguished shine which didn't occur with the mesh.
With a stunning combination of tumbled leather caressing the toe box and tongue which wraps and extends onto the upper panelling on the flanks, mixed with a distinct pebble grain leather for a striking visual and tactile results which has been inspired by a Sting Rays skin.
The 13 has always been a standout model in the Jordan archive, with great inspiration and meaning behind the detailing. The outsole features four pads which resemble a Panthers paw. Even the ankle and outsole has a holographic jewel embedded into them, that resembles the paws and eyes of a panther. Why, you may ask? As Jordan was so agile and quick on the court with a cat like spirit, he became commonly known as 'Black Panther' by friends and even Tinker Hatfield himself, which is where the inspiration behind the design stemmed from.
The Altitude nickname stems from the vibrant highlights of Altitude Green that lights up the Jumpman logo and Jordan branding as well as lathering the outsole, that boldly stand against the muted Black colour that dominates them.
