Fragments of Memory Piece Together This Royal Release
It's been a strong run for fans of the Air Jordan 1. Not one, but two heralded collaborations with Visionary curator Virgil Abloh and Off White, a plethora of new and reissued colourways, manifesting here in the long-anticipated release of the Air Jordan 1 'Game Royal', offering an alternate take on the 'Royal' Colourway that fans of the numbered series hold so dear to their heart.
Whilst offering a brand new colouring to the AJ1, the Royal palette of Blue is a legendary Nike colouring that's found itself on every heralded silhouette across the Nike catalogue. Considering that the chance to own a pair of 'Fragment' AJ1s is out of the question, this is the closest that Jordan heads will get to that grail status (bearing a larger release/reissue, don't hold your breath)
A typically premium leather construction on the OG high top rings true on this drop. This Game Royal edition includes the exact same makeup to the Fragment AJ1, with the Black toecap and eyelets now being replaced by a Royal Blue colouring. Branding wise, other than the missing 'Fragment' branding, it's identical Nike and Jordan Brand logos across the lateral sides, joined by the Jordan wings logo on the outer side of the shoe, and retro Nike branding on the laces tag.
This is exactly what you'd expect from another premium Air Jordan release, and we're happy to confirm everyone's suspicions that Jordan is killing it so far this year, with an avalanche of heat to drop the rest of this year.
