Nike have been delving into their vast archive already for 2018, with a huge resurgence in classic silhouettes, such as the Air Max 180, 93 & the 98 and it's only the start of February! They have picked out yet another old school piece, this time we see the Air Span II silhouette make its appearance.
Initially released in the late 80's the Air Span II followed in 1990 and then hasn't seen much action since then. Which in fairness, makes this throwback a much more exclusive and exciting release, why? Because it has been a while since they have been seen on the public radar, so all the older sneakerheads will remember them releasing or still have a beater pair in the loft somewhere and the younger generations will see why Nike has been a titan force for decades.
The initial colour way will be a throw to the OG colour which sees a stunning blended mix of neutral base colours, featuring white, grey and black across the upper. Then striking Blue accents adorn the Swoosh, tongue tag and outsole for a refreshing retro vibe. Air Span II branding has been stamped on the heel flanks, for an overt flexing.
The secondary colourway is for the ladies who love a subtle retro style. With flourishing Spring-ready pastel pink tones radiating across the sneaker. Constructed using a durable leather, with a nylon blend for a breathable and lightweight running function, whilst retaining the stylistic elements.
If I had to pick a pair I would definitely go for the Women's colourway, I think the OG colourway is amazing and definitely holds its own, but for the Spring I could really see myself with a simple outfit on with the subtle touches of Pink on the Span making the statement for me. But obviously everyone likes different things.
