SYPC - Sneaker Seeker Project
This fantastic project aims to develop young people throught the implementation of workshops headed by prominent artist and designers. These workshops will give the young people skills in sneaker customisation, photographic manipluation using photoshop software, and event organisation for the final exhibition.
This is a really postive project for the youth community of Slough. It taps into their passion for sportsware and gives a platform to learn valuable skills. Hopefully some of the students will aspire to work in the industry and propel them forward into other area of eduction to forfil their dreams. Others may well just develop a true passion for sneakers and become embroiled in the whole culture. Either would be extremely healthy for the sneaker industry as a whole.
This project has got the full backing from SoleHeaven and we are providing the sneakers on which the students will paint and create their own designs.
The workshops will be held by some of the U.K.’s top urban artist and designers.
The 1st workshop will be held on Dec 22nd by Monorex
Sneakart will be hosting the 2nd workshop in January
Rob-L & Ghettro will be doing the 3rd workshop in February
The final exhibition will be in March and judged by Ollie Gilbertson (adidas) and Ligaya Salazar (curator of V&A)
