As a DJ, Mark holds international prominence, recognised the world over for his extended 7 hour sets, headlining festivals and clubs from Ultra Music Festival Miami to the Terrace at Space Ibiza.

In 2006, Mark’s belief and desire to inject freshness into a stale club scene, inspired him to programme his own parties, this concept became a reality with the launch of Toolroom Knights at Ministry of Sound, London in October ’06.

As this feature is all about Dj's and their love for sneaks, what was your first pair?...Was it love at first sight?

I think it was a pair of Diadorra’s Bjorn Borgs or Adidas Gazelles ..i was very much into my soul music and football back in the day so the current terrace trend was a must

Back in your school days, did you ever get jealous of other kids because of their kicks?

Yeah there was always a bit of envy when someone came in with my some new kicks but it was more rivalry between a group of mates

I played a lot of Basketball in my school years so we looked to the states to see what was fresh on the NBA players and emulate that

I can remember paying a fortune for an imported pair of JORDAN III’s from the Bon Marche centre in Brixton I think I was one of the first in the UK to have a pair I was chuffed but also skint

Are you a box-fresh collector or do you love to wear your favourites? What is your current top pick?

To be honest I’m more of a wearer than box collector at the moment I’m into the Nike Blazer Hi Tops I have a few different colourways and love the old school vibe they give

Are you loyal to a brand or colourway? Why?

Adidas and Nike have always been firm favorite but I do like what Clae and Puma are putting out at the moment

Do you have a favourite city when it comes to picking up new kicks?

New York is always a great place to go shopping you can find some real gems if you know where to look
