As this feature is all about Dj's and their love for sneaks, what was your first pair?...Was it love at first sight?
I can't actually remember my first proper pair of kicks. Everyone had some no brand generic school plimsoles back in the day. I had some Hi-Tecs that were alright actually. Massive tongues! I also had an OG pair of Jordan 1s that seem to have disappeared.....gutted.
Back in your school days, did you ever get jealous of other kids because of their kicks?
Some of the older boys had Diadora Borg Elites. In fact some of the rich kids my age had them too. The gold ones looked pretty amazing.
Are you a box-fresh collector or do you love to wear your favourites? What is your current top pick?.
Now that's a good question. I've got quite a few pairs that haven't seen daylight for a while. Fat Joe could still lick the soles! Got some Ca$h Money Pumas, the Mars Jordan 4s and some SpaceJams that are unworn and a few others. I really need to wear them as that's what they were meant for. I just keep the babywipes and toothbrush ready at home.
Are you loyal to a brand or colourway? Why?
I actually appreciate all of the brands as each have their strong points. Reebok Pumps, Adidas Torsion and their 90's Basketball shoes and runners, Nike Jordans, Puma suedes are all dope. Why limit yourself to just one style/brand? That's my view anyways. For me Adidas Attitude hi's are the most comfortable. I have a pair that I wear a lot
Do you have a favourite city when it comes to picking up new kicks?
There's a spot in downtown Miami that's one of the few mom and pop stores left that have some crazy OG styles in there. I like to support the independent stores where I can. Online can be too tempting!
